Ex-Miss India Prachi Mishra Doesn’t Want To Get Type-casted!

An Uttar Pradesh girl who did her Engineering in Computer Science, post graduation in Management and then became an Investment advisor before becoming Miss India in 2012, Prachi Mishra has had an eventful journey so far from academics to the world of glamour. Prachi is now all set to make her Bollywood debut with Dilliwaali Zaalim Girlfriend, where she is paired opposite Divyendu Sharma (who you might have seen in Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Chashme Baddoor).

Find out what she has to say:

Since you come from a Miss India background, you must be happy to be getting a good opportunity to showcase your glamorous side in your first film?

In fact this movie doesn’t really require much of the glam element since I am playing a girl who comes from a Finance company. So this guy (Divyendu) falls in love with her, though she is not in love with him. This is how she becomes zaalim (laughs). Since I have worked in a bank, I knew little bit of finance and it worked for me. Coming back to your question on the glam part, it comes on screen only when these songs pop up on the screen. Having said that, when I signed the film then there wasn’t much of the glam quotient on paper.

Weren’t you vying for that?

People had seen me in a bikini during Miss India, so I didn’t have to necessarily show them that I was hot. Yes, if they want me to look hot, then I would. If they want me to turn into a ‘bhaartiya naari‘ then even that’s okay. If they want me to just act, then I will act. However to expect that a Miss India will do only a glam part is plain stupid. As beauty queens, we are representatives of India. When we step out, people address us as Miss India. I feel that I have too much potential to be tagged as a glam doll.

What are your expectations from Dilliwali Zaalim Girlfriend?
