If there’s one thing in life I’d want more than owning an endless supply of peanut butter cups, it’s banishing my dark circles. Good lord, how I’ve tried! From primers to concealers to eye creams, they just don’t budge (you feel?). However, most times it’s genetic. And if there’s one thing I’ve learnt from my Kardashian-like curves, is that you cannot get past your genetics, guys! Now, we all know tips and tricks to getting them concealed, but if you’re in my shoes, or should I say dilemma, stay tuned. These are 5 no-no’s when trying to conceal those b*tches.

1) Say No To Wrong Concealer Shades

This is the first step to concealing your dark circles well. Testing your concealer on the back of your hand is no good – ever! Once you’ve found your perfect shade, buy it. Buy 3 if you must. Remember, a good concealer will be your BFF through it all.

2) Say No To Finger Application

Your fingers are not your friends ladies. Applying concealer with your fingers or even a beauty blender takes away most of the product. This way you’d be using way more product without reaping in the benefits. Try a concealer brush instead and blend blend blend. More blending, more concealing!

3) Say No To Red Lipstick

We all want to look flawless like Taylor Swift. But one of the most important point to keep in mind when your under eye area is quite dark – no red lipstick! If you think you still look panda-like even after you’ve concealed the eye area, go with a nude or a subtle pink tone instead. It’ll give you a fresher and look more glam than any red.

4) Say No To Dark Eyeshadow

We’ve all seen those tricks and tutorials for a glam smokey eye. For peeps like us, say no! Guys, stay away from dark black, metallics, greys, sliver – anything that will draw in attention to the dark circles. What it does is create a darker shadow in the area. No thanks eyeshadow, we don’t need that kind of negativity in our makeup kit.

5) Say No To Double Liner

Have you ever thought the fate of your under eye could be in your eyeliner? While most of us like to line both the upper and lower lines of our eye, this isn’t a good idea. It does nothing for your overall glam, except make your eyes look smaller and darker. Preferably stick to the top when it comes to lining, you’ll visibly see brighter eyes!
