Oh March! How you tease us with your erratic weather (global warming is that you?). As I wait for the next downpour in the middle of this sudden heat wave, it got me thinking… (and drankin‘) – the ’70s were all up in my face in this month’s Vogue (in a good way guys). We all love using that big hair don’t care hashtag, amirite? However, the hair in the ’70s definitely had a better way of putting it to good use.
Vogue let me in on how to dress like a chic chick like the ’70s, but if you want your hair looking fresher than my clique (which includes me as of now), read on to see how you can achieve that voluminous hair.
Step 1
Section the top of your hair into two parts. Clip up the first section at the starting of your crown (fringes included). Gather your strand behind that for the second section.
Step 2
Start teasing the hair at the back section with a brush as you normally would. Once you achieve the desired volume, evenly tousle the hair back. And baam! Volume alert!
Step 3
Unclip the front section now and tease, tease, tease. Brush it over to make it look a little polished. Then with some bobby pins, create a small bouffant. Hold it together and pin it in place. Run a brush over the top gently to create a smooth surface. However, I think the messier the better.
