Imagine a Grammy Award nominated artist serenading your evening with chart topping songs, in the dark of the night, lit up by lanterns and the Bombay skyline. Well that’s how we spent our Sunday! It was Ed Sheeran’s debut performance in India, live at the Mahalaxmi Race Course, and much like the 10,000 fans that were gathered there, we insist that he’s got to visit us more often. Here are 5 reasons why he cannot refuse to come back (soon)!
1) FANtastic Following
Fans started lining up hours before the venue gates opened, to make sure they could spot Ed Sheeran from wherever they were. Finally 10,000 made it in, clapping and singing in sync with the singer himself, performing his biggest hits like Thinking Out Loud, Sing, I See Fire, and Don’t. Raise your hands (literally) if you can feel the love!
2) Right Partner In Crime
From the 57th Annual Grammy Awards’ stage, he arrived at the Mahalaxmi Race Course, and the Fly Music Festival team made sure the set up was picture perfect. The light show on the stage backdrop kept pace with the mesmerizing live music. The city was alive, and thumping! #FlyWithEdSheeran
3) Kurta Crush
It was his first performance in India, and he even dressed the part. It was a blue Kurta paired with jeans, and Ed looked boyishly cute with his iconic ginger do. Bet he’d rock a sherwani just as easily.
4) Bright Lights
Backbenchers enjoyed this just as much as everyone else. Whether you were here or there, the live music, Bombay skyline and bright lanterns followed you. In this city that never sleeps, wouldn’t you love a few more nights too?!
5) Encore! Encore!
The crowd kept screaming, so the sweet Sheeran came back for an encore, which only left us wanting even more!
Give the people what they want? Yes please.
