A new day, some more fashion fun! If you’re a fashion junkie, here’s everything you need to know this afternoon.
1. Shift in the bedroom
Designer Nimish Shah of Shift, known for his fun prints and on-trend silhouettes, is all set to take over your bedroom. Following Nachiket Barve and Kallol Datta‘s footsteps, Shah is all set to launch a limited edition collection of quilts, pillow cases and cushion covers – Well I can say one thing for sure, I can’t wait to get into bed with Shift!
2. NYFW without Oscar
Oscar de la Renta passed away recently, and last night marked the first show at NYFW that was presented without the master himself. Peter Copping took over the reigns of the fashion house and presented designs which reassured everyone that the label was in good hands.
3. 7 times as nice
For their last season, the Wardrobist (Aastha Sharma) brought together 4 young designers and hosted an exhibition in the by-lanes of Bandra. This time around, they’ve upped their game. A pop up store will be popping up (haha) on the 20th at Cheval with not just 4, but 7 designers. Starting 12 noon, this one is all set to lure you in and keep you shopping well past midnight. Expect Nikhil Thampi, Hemant & Nandita, Mrinalini Chandra, Yogesh Chaudhary, Eina Ahluwalia, Nishka Lulla and Shweta Kapur (431-88)
4. Gaga for Lady Gaga’s rock
You all saw Lady Gaga‘s boulder sizes rock yesterday. We can’t be more excited for her, and her hubby to be! But do you know who designed the whopper? It was Hollywood rock queen, Lorraine Schwartz of course. Turns out it’s also one of the more expensive rings she’s ever done.
5. The day for Costume Designers
Actors, Musicians, Directors and Producers – they all have their respective days to shine and win big at Award Shows. Well the Costume Designers can’t be left behind, can they? The Costume Designers Guild Awards is on as I type this and upto now, Game of Thrones has won an award for Outstanding Period/Fantasy Television Series – this shouldn’t be a surprise! Keep your eyes peeled for live updates on their social media!
Keep your eyes (and ears) open ladies (and gents), there’s a whole lot more coming up!
