These days, it’s become clear that celebrities have to be super careful about their every move. Something done rather innocently can be construed in too many ways. Case in point: Alia Bhatt.

So yesterday, Alia posted a picture of a song she was listening to – Love Me Like You Do by Ellie Goulding.

All was fine – except that the picture had an illegal music website URL. Before she knew it, her innocent song dedication turned into a ‘OMG! Celebrity endorses piracy’ controversy. Yup. Her post is now being looked at as public endorsement of piracy. That escalated quickly, didn’t it? In her defense, a lot of fans have commented on the post saying that’s what SoundCloud’s interface looks like – so she probably didn’t download the song herself.

I just hope this doesn’t become a moral policing issue, considering everything is a problem these days.
