For all the newly-engaged girls, the brides-to-be, or the aspiring makeup artists, bridal season is probably the most exciting time of the year! If we aren’t getting married ourselves, we’ve got oh-so-many weddings to attend and sometimes, we run out of ideas when it comes to our clothes and makeup. Most of us don’t miss all the desi outfit inspiration, like the cut-out shararas or lehengas with intricate detailing; but when it comes to makeup, we stick to the plain old kajal and red lip, or worse, leave it entirely up to the makeup artist! That is exactly why I’m counting down 11 timeless beauty looks from a few of our favorite movies. Here goes…
1) Hum Aapke Hain Koun
The full bindi arrangement on the forehead might have been out for a while, but it’s coming back in a big way! Madhuri Dixit‘s brows, lashes, and lips were on point even in the ’90s.
2) Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani
Kalki Koechlin looks so real, yet adorable in this bridal scene from YJHD!
3) Jodha Akbar
Take inspiration from this epic film and let your jewellery do all the talking. You can always opt for a no makeup look.
4) Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya
Alia Bhatt looks young and fresh with this smokey eye and the nude-pink lips!
5) Veer Zaara
If you want to carry off a boldly defined eye, go for a subtle look with the rest of your makeup.
6) Devdas
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan‘s bridal look in Devdas is one of my personal favorites. I love loading up on winged eyeliner and fake lashes!
7) Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam
Yes, it’s Aishwarya again, because she’s just that beautiful as a bride. Once again, it’s lashes and liner, paired with a subtle red lip and brown eyeshadow.
8) Rockstar
Nargis Fakhri does justice to the part of Kashmiri bride with pink cheeks and lips.
9) Namastey London
Katrina Kaif‘s bridal look in Namastey London is super feminine. I love the glossy lip!
10) 2 States
If you’re confused about what to do, you can always fall back on the classic kohl, bright lips, and beautiful skin kind of look.
11) 3 Idiots
I love how Kareena Kapoor hasn’t loaded up on foundation for this look. Let your skin breathe and be yourself!
