The first month of 2015 has flown by and many of us have settled back into our usual routines. This also means that all those fancy resolutions we fervently promised ourselves on 31 December have probably gone for a toss or postponed to “later” (guilty as charged).
Whether you aspire to upload nicer photos on social media, get better sleep or create an exercise routine, here are 5 FREE apps designed to help you stick to your resolutions a little longer!
1) Hyperlapse
Developed by Instagram, Hyperlapse allows you to create amazing time lapse videos up to 12 times the original video capture speed. Think videos of clouds whizzing by, sunsets plunging over the horizon or superfast city traffic. With a little patience and a whole lot of creativity, we can all pretend to be National Geographic videographers for a day.
2) Sleep Time
This app allows you to track the quality of your sleep by charting the duration of light sleep and deep, restful sleep. Based on your sleep patterns and bedtime, the app then creates a custom alarm that recommends your wake up time. Perfect for insomniacs or those tired (no pun intended) of counting sheep before bed.
3) VSCO Cam
Increase the double taps on your Instagram feed with professional looking photos that scream high fashion. With a multitude of filters which control colour, contrast and temperature, transform your photos from pretty to professional in a few easy swipes. The clean and simple layout is a breeze to use too!
4) Seven
Seven provides you with a selection of customised seven minute workouts based on target area. The cool thing about this app is that you can choose from a range of voice overs which monitor your progress and push you to give your best. Totally beats having to pay hundreds of dollars for a personal trainer when you can have one in your pocket at all times.
5) LastPass
It happens to the best of us. With so many online accounts that require different password configurations, it is only a matter of time before the inevitable happens – we mix passwords up! Adding to these woes are the ridiculous password reset questions. Seriously, how many of us can actually remember the last name of our first grade teacher? LastPass is a secure, hassle free godsend that saves all your passwords and requires you to only remember one – your LastPass password. Say alvida to frantically trying every single password combination when all you want to do is file your tax returns on time!
