The most talked about designer in the fashion world, the talented John Galliano made his Maison Martin Margiela debut in London on Monday. Come New Year’s this will definitely go down as one of the biggest fashion moments of 2015. The brilliant designer returned back to the runway after almost three years of absence from the fashion world, since he was fired by Dior back in 2011.
John Galliano x Martin Margiela
Martin Margiela is a Belgian fashion designer who made the concept of deconstruction a major fashion statement.
Everyone was rather excited to see the two most glorious designer ideologies come together – and with good reason! Wondering what happened? (Spoiler alert : It was genius)
Vogue‘s Suzy Menkes exclaimed,
With exquisite attention to detail, wild splashes of scarlet and intense decoration set against pure tailoring, John Galliano came back to the runway.
She even put up a video, take a look…
Tim Blanks of Style.com expressed,
Deconstruction was always one of Margiela’s central precepts, and Galliano proved himself more than a match with his own efforts, especially with a postscript that saw the models parading by in pinned-together toiles, a revelatory way to illuminate the creative processes behind the collection
PS: The synergies may surprise you. They certainly did us.

We spotted all the right people at the MMM Spring 2015 Show. Designer Christopher Bailey made his way after his menswear show to join other designers like Jasper Conran, Alber Elbaz and Manolo Blahnik. Eminent stylists and editors from all around the world and of course, there was Anna Wintour, Kate Moss, husband Jamie Hince and Galliano’s best friend Fran Cutler on the front row.
Here’s what I think; since the time I have known the existence of Martin Margiela as a designer and brand, I have always adored him for his extraordinary style. John Galliano is one designer who skilfully experiments, and the amalgamation of these was clearly seen on the runway on Monday. If you are a lover of extraordinary fashion, you are absolutely going to fall in love with this new collection. It certainly is the beginning of a new era #MondayMargiela.
Welcome back John Galliano. You have certainly made 2015 an exciting year to look forward to.
