Does your makeup and face end up looking like this at the end of the day, because you forgot to dab on a little powder, or sometimes even after you did? And by then your makeup is halfway down your face? Ew, I know! You, my friend, need a good primer.
Primers have become an essential makeup base for any makeup artist, so it’s only natural that everybody wants to use them. Every cosmetic aisle confuses us from correcting primers to hydrating primers and so on and so forth. So, how about just skip the primer section altogether and opt for everyday products that can be purchased at a very reasonable price?
1. Milk Of Magnesia
Yes, this is usually used for constipation purposes, but that’s what makes this all the more amazing. Just try dipping a small cotton ball in this magic milk and gently glide it all over your face, then apply your base as usual. When you look in the mirror a couple of hours later, your makeup won’t be sliding off.
2. Aloe Vera Gel + Moisturizer
Mix a teaspoon or two of moisturizer (depending on how oily your skin is) to a dollop of pure aloe vera gel and apply all over your face as a primer. Aloe vera gel will soothe redness and the moisturizer combination is a great way to maintain a dewy finish without looking oily.
3. Anti-Chafing Cream
This one’s another semi-disgusting thought, but anti-chafing cream is made specially for flakiness. Flakiness is makeup’s worst enemy… enough said.
4. BB Cream
Because BB Cream is like moisturizer that targets blemishes, it works great as a primer. Make sure you don’t overload on BB Cream. Just use a couple of drops and spread it on your face using your finger tips. Save the coverage part for the foundation.
Kind of unbelievable right? How many of these products do you have lying around the house? I think I’ve got pretty much all the stuff on the list… except the anti-chafing cream! No friction between the thighs here.
