The promos of Main Aur Mr. Riight are on air and the film is looking interesting indeed, especially so since it has (Ms. Sunshine – as I like to address her ever since I came in contact with her first) Shenaz Treasurywala returning as a female lead. While one awaits the film’s release next Friday (12th December), the fact remains that the pretty woman has been away from the big screen for way too long now.
For someone who made a first big impression with Ishq Vishk more than a decade ago, doesn’t she too feel that she deserves a lot better in the world of films and glamour?
Laughs Shenaz, “I think I have it all actually. Sure, there were ups and downs. I always don’t have the budget to do what I want but I ‘like to create’ more than anything else. And acting in films is just a little part of the big picture of what I do. My only goal has always been to keep working and be creative. I may sound like I’m being a martyr but I really am not in it for the glamour.”
Last seen on the big screen in Imran Khan starrer Delhi Belly, Shenaz goes on to add, “See, I have been in front of the camera since I was 15. That’s when I shot my first advertisement. Then I was on MTV as a teenager and into my 20s I did Ishq Vishk. All of it just happened and I went with the flow and grabbed opportunities.”
No wonder, she has been keeping herself engaged not just in the world of films but also various television shows.
“I actually am pretty proud of myself and happy that I am not only an actress but even a writer and a producer. I am a story teller. I am not at the mercy of anyone to give me work, I can create my own work. I have enough experience in front and behind the camera,” she smiles.
Before parting, she does share some of her work which is available on YouTube. Do have a look at her series Smile With Shenaz, where she travels around the world, spreading – of course – smiles!
We were particularly impressed with this one – Find Out Why This Midwestern Man Embraced the Sikh Religion:
And then we also caught hold of some of the work that Shenaz wrote as well as produced for the Travel Channel USA. We, of course, came back impressed!
