A typical Sunday afternoon during the winter is all about being in bed and sipping on a hot cup of coffee, but when you’re in the fashion capital it’s quite eventful. That’s right! We’re talking about an Italian delight by Pia Pauro and Campari that we witnessed over the weekend during which we came up with 6 hashtags that perfectly described the evening.
1) #SpringEncounter
It’s not every day that one encounters spring in full fledged winters. Designer Pia Pauro, made quite an impact on a wintery Sunday afternoon on the lush lawns of Imperial Delhi. It was lovely to witness how she showcased a fusion of the Mediterranean’s cultural richness in her SS15 collection with intricate Italian embroidery and vibrant hues.
2) #ItalianAffair
Good fashion and spirit are both testaments to the rich Italian culture and when blended together, it surely forms a heady mix!! The Italian element in the collection reached a crescendo when the showstopper moment turned out to be the unveiling of the regal 2015 Campari Calendar titled Mythology – Mixology.
3) #BondGirlFactor
This time the iconic calendar is all the more special – the Casino Royale Bond girl Eva Green has been featured on all its 12 pages. In sync with the mood of the calendar, we couldn’t resist sampling the Bond girl’s favorite cocktail “The Classic Negroni”
4) #CampariCocktails
Besides the Bond girl, another prominent feature of this sought after calendar was how the 12 signature cocktails have been featured on its pages. It is interesting to note that only 9,999 of these are printed every year and for the first time ever these iconic calendars were made available to friends of Campari in India.
5) #BestMistakeEver
The classic Campari cocktails are popular world over but the most preferred one is the Best Mistake. Believe it or not, this cocktail originated from a mistake made by a bar tender where he was asked to make Negroni but used sparkling wine instead of gin. This mistake gave rise to this signature oxymoron concoction, wicked isn’t it? – It isn’t much of a mistake when you try it!
6) #HighSprit
Delhi’s high spirit was abundantly evident, even the winter chill couldn’t detour the Dilliwalas from looking their fashionable best. We saw designers like Rohit Bal and Malini Ramani having a great time while sipping on the yummylicious cocktails.
So how was your Sunday?
