Action Jackson has stayed low at the box office. After the opening was just about okay, a rise in collections over Sunday gave the Ajay Devgn starrer some hope for a sustained week ahead. That didn’t quite turn out to be the case, though, as the collections kept dipping with every passing day, hence resulting in 50 crore coming in after the end of the week. This is much lower than expected from the Prabhu Dheva film, and such numbers are especially low when you consider there wasn’t any competition around.
For Ajay Devgn, this brings a mixed end to the year as he started off quite well with Singham Returns. However, all his energy would now be on Shivaay, the shooting of which kickstarts in February. On the other hand, Sonakshi Sinha has already moved on to her next big Hindi film Tevar, which is creating noise for good reasons. As for Prabhu Dheva, he will soon be starting the shoot of Singh Is Bling. Meanwhile, the producers – Eros – have a huge line up ahead in the form of Lingaa, Tevar, Shamitabh, Badlapur, NH10 and more which could make 2015 one of their most eventful years ever.
Meanwhile, Bhopal: A Prayer For Rain could barely complete a week at the box office. Also, Mumbai Delhi Mumbai as well as Sulemani Keeda have added to the kitty of box office disasters in 2014.
