One of the most loved actresses of Bollywood, Raveena Tandon, is all set to make her comeback on celluloid. The coming year will mark the release of two of her films, Anurag Kashyap‘s Bombay Velvet and the critically acclaimed director Onir‘s Shab.
Raveena will be seen playing a jazz singer in Bombay Velvet and we can’t wait to see the ’90s reigning heroine in a brand new avatar. When she was asked what took her so long to zero down on her comeback vehicle, here’s what she said:
There are no dearth of offers. But I have the liberty to say no. I don’t have to build my career. It’s not like my husband is out of job or I am divorced and poor and need to make a living out of films. I will only take up a film which justifies the time that I spend away from my family.
Clearly, the scripts of Bombay Velvet and Shab struck a chord with her instantly. While the actress was more than thrilled to be a part of these interesting projects, she made sure that she didn’t have any intimate sequences in any of these movies.
In a recent interview to a leading tabloid, the actress said:
There aren’t any love-making scenes in the film. Onir came to me and asked if I would do kissing scenes, I put my foot down. I didn’t do such scenes during the peak of my career, so why would I indulge in them now?
Point taken, Raveena!
