If you’re going to ask whether I’m a poet? No, I’m not, but I might as well be with the rhyming title, me thinks. Anyway, mostly I’m just a beauty blogger, so when I see makeup gone wrong … I will call you out, sister! I have a serious addiction to the ’90s and early 2000’s Bollywood music. Give me a glass of wine and some hip-thrusting Govinda numbers and I have myself a party! So, the other day, I was going through some older (if you will) songs, but was scarred by some of the horrible makeup. Seriously makeup dudes from that time … what were you thinking? And I decided, why not share it with the rest of the world! Here’s to a future of makeup perfection and may you never make these mistakes!
Disclaimer: I’m not picking on any of your favourite heroines from the 90’s. Sorry for the repetitions. And I’m pretty sure people will be making fun of our makeup trends 20 years down the line.
1) Tu Cheez Badi Hain Mast
Okay, Raveena Tandon has the same shade on her cheeks, lips, and eyes. It’s bronze overload. She obviously still looks gorgeous and I love multi-tasking products (Psst … check out my lazy girl tips). But … not so much of the same colour everywhere please. The product is not even a shade of pink or something natural. It’s just really heavy bronze.
2) Aaila Re From Jung
Way too many stickers and way too much highlighter on her brow bone. What is with that? Shilpa Shetty still has a hot body, though!
3) Koi Jaye To Le Aaye
Because Mamta Kulkarni seems to have no shape to her lips and I don’t even know what to say about her hair.
4) Aa Hi Jaiye
Woaaah, there! Urmila Matondkar looks hella scary. Plus, the expressions don’t help! And what is with the dude standing next to Manisha Koirala?
5) Mera Mann Dole
First outfit … way too much pink on Kareena Kapoor‘s face. I think she was going for a baby doll pink, but it really isn’t working for her and there’s more baby doll pink on her eyes and cheeks. Eeek!
6) O Ajnabi
And she’s done it here again … in full shaadi ka joda. Her name should be Pinky. Okay, bad joke.
7) Pyaar Aaya Pyaar Aaya
Again, Priyanka Chopra is beautiful, but isn’t something up with her brows in this one? And I hate matchy-matchy eyeshadow.
8) Jaanam Samjha Karo
This is not a lipstick shade that must ever be worn by anyone, unless you’re going for alien. And oh god, what is with that eye makeup?
9) Ishq Di Galli
Remember Bipasha Basu during the No Entry days? That is makeup gone seriously wrong! Why is the blush touching her forehead … as well as the glitter in the second half?
10) Tere In Galon Pe
This song from Prem Qaidi is Oh-Em-Gee! Karisma Kapoor‘s eyebrows are way too bold and face is way too pale. Thank you god for her evolving sensibilities in the world of makeup and fashion. And I’m not even going to comment on that dude.
