Saif Ali Khan is known to share his creative inputs for films of his, especially the ones which are produced by him as well. Now he has taken a step ahead for Happy Ending. For one of the comic scenes in his ‘comedy about romcoms’, he has also called the shots as a director.
A source says:
“This is the scene where Saif’s luxury car is towed away on the highway after an accident. The driver is played by DK of director duo RAJ-DK. Since he was behind the wheels, someone had to come behind the camera and make sure that the scene was canned right. This is where Saif volunteered to do the needful.”
Interestingly, the scene was first shot with a foreign actor. However, Saif was not happy with the final results and felt that an Indian driver on a coastal highway in the USA would add on some fun into the proceedings, especially due to its quirky set up.
“He literally coaxed me into acting out the scene,” says DK who is not new to the world of acting as he has faced the camera for a cameo in his own Go Goa Gone as well, “It is a funny scene though and when Saif promised that he would direct me well, I was game for the scene.”
While the results do bring on a chuckle, considering the manner in which the scene has been set by Saif and enacted by DK, one wonders if a full-fledged film by Saif in the capacity of a director is not too far away.
Now that’s something we would love to see for sure!
