Alright ladies, I know the color-block trend has been spotted as one of the A-list trends this season and lately, I’ve been seeing this trend pop up in some creative new ways. So here’s my little rundown on how to color-block this season; I’ll spare you all the dry history behind it and cut to the case. Here’s how you can start adorning the trend, right away!
1. Louder The Better
If you haven’t experimented with color before, here’s your chance. Take advantage of this opportunity to be loud for no reason and still look fab!
2. Clashy Attire Only
It’s okay to wear clothes that contrast in color. It might sound a little daunting at first, but take it slow as a first timer. Do a black and navy or the classic black and white. Everyone needs to get over matchy-matchy, including you!
3. Keep It Simple
Don’t go OTT with this trend. Stick to neutrals, if you are going loud with accessories; and vice-versa if you choose to dress in loud colours.
PS: Loud colored clothes and no accessories is pretty cool too.
4. Lucky No. 3
Try sticking to 3 colours max when you opt for an ensemble that involves color-blocking. Blair Waldorf does it well, see what I mean?
5. The Color Wheel
If you don’t know which colour to contrast, you can always refer to the colour wheel. Just decide the colour of your choice and match it to the one right opposite. Simple? Or just take some inspiration from Katy Perry.
See, it’s not as hard as it looks! What color are you planning to start with?
