So Masterchef India is gearing up for its 4th season, with the show being judged by Sanjeev Kapoor among others. And heir recent creative decision will really make you cringe: for the 4th season, its going to cater to only vegetarian audiences as they’re making a switch to vegetarianism. I wish I was making this up.
Defending their move, Sanjeev Kapoor said:
We are primarily a vegetarian country. Globally too, the trend is to go vegetarian. It is more challenging to prepare vegetarian dishes. And it is said that for every non-vegetarian dish available across the globe, there is a vegetarian option prepared in our country.
Now the thing is, I have never been a fan of the Indian edition of the Masterchef series anyway. But as a global citizen who takes her food very seriously and has full control of the remote whenever Masterchef Australia is on, I have way too many feelings about this.
Just when I tried to put words to whatever I’m feeling right now, I came across 8 tweets that’re doing it for me.
1. The Return Of Alok Nath Jokes?
2. This Seems Like The ONLY Explanation
3. I HOPE They Allow Garlic
4. #Sanskaar
5. Basically Saying What Everyone Is Thinking
6. Sanskrit Subtitles, Please?
7. Splitsvilla > Masterchef India
8. Mumbai Renting Problems Bind All
What are your thoughts about this vegetarian movement? Please leave a comment and tell me I’m not the only one who is finding this most bizarre!
