After two major releases earlier this year in Yeh Hai Bakrapur and Fugly, Anshuman Jha is now in a festival mode. And no, its not just because of Diwali!
The critically acclaimed actor recently won the Golden Gateway for Best Film at MAMI 2014 for his next release, Onir‘s Chauranga. And he’ll soon be travelling to New York for the world premiere of his upcoming film, X, produced by Manish Mundra (who had produced Aankhon Dekhi). X has been selected as the opening night film at SAIFF 2014, where Jha will represent it flanked by 11 actresses and filmmakers.
The movie is a collaboration between 11 filmmakers. It traces the life of a filmmaker named K (from the age of 16 to 45). Jha plays the lead character, K’s younger version. Huma Quereshi, Swara Bhaskar and Pia Bajpai are the actresses opposite him in the flick. And Rajat Kapoor will be seen as the older K. X is scheduled for a release in early 2015.
Says an elated Anshuman:
“I am extremely happy and proud of Chauranga. And now, X being the opening film at SAIFF is the icing on the cake. I’m thankful to be a part of this fantastic collaboration and to have had the opportunity to work with such wonderful filmmakers. I am als extremely thankful to Manish Mundra for making this film possible. And of course, the all the actresses too. As an actor, I feel my character in X is probably the most emotionally draining performance I have ever done.”
Here’s congratulating the talented actor!
