Neetu Chandra has made it to the headlines more often for her relationship with former boyfriend, Randeep Hooda, than for her filmography in Bollywood. Naturally, she hasn’t been in the news off late (as the two have parted ways). But her name has now resurfaced in the media. That’s because she took to her Facebook page to express her anguish towards author Chetan Bhagat for ‘stereotyping’ the Bihari community in his latest novel, Half Girlfriend.
She stated:
#ChetanBhagat, becomes another victim of stereotyping #Biharis, in his#HalfGirlfriend’, I learnt that he makes his Bihari protagonist incidentally from my town Dumraon, as someone who is bad at #ENGLISH But to Chetan Bhagat’s dissapointment, let me tell you guys, the first ever English Novel in this country was written by #DeanMohammad from Bhojpur region in Bihar in 1793.. Better luck next time Chetan. Biharis have better English than your imagination Bhagat Bhai, #Bihar ke Aankh se dekha ja ke, Khali kaan se maat suna…. Sake Dean Mahomed
Umm. Now, we don’t know how to react to that – but it will be interesting to see how the author will respond to this complaint by Neetu! Do you think her complaint is justified?
