A year spent in some really heavy duty situations for Haider has come to a culmination for Shahid Kapoor. By fetching some of the best reviews and acclaim ever for his performance in the film, it has been a journey well taken for Shahid, who is now gearing up for his next.
Come November, it will be time to get into some light entertainment with Farzi, which would go on floors once director duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK are through with the release of Happy Ending.
An insider associated with Eros – which is producing this film along with Raj-DK – quips:
“From a ‘heavy Haider’, it would be a ‘feathery Farzi’ for Shahid. Guess he has showcased yet again that he is an actor of calibre. When he gets the right script and direction in place, he flourishes, and how. Haider has shown that yet again. Now he can let his hair down a little as Farzi has a much lighter stage and setting to it.”
Farzi is set as a big canvas crime-thriller-drama with a dose of humor attached to its narrative.
Our source adds:
“The treatment is going to be very suave and stylish, as is anyways the case with films coming from Raj and DK. Moreover, even though Shahid is getting into full-on-commercial mode for this one (unlike the niche setting of Haider), he won’t be seen in a R… Rajkumar or Phata Poster Nikhla Hero avatar. Instead, he would be seen in a much more contemporary presentation.”
We look forward to that!
