Now, here’s a piece of of trivia which we couldn’t resist sharing with you. Believe it or not, but Deepika Padukone has beaten Shahid Kapoor by around 50 lakhs. Though one couldn’t really see this coming, the fact remains that first three day collections of Haider have turned out to be lesser than that of Finding Fanny. While the former managed to accumulate 19.45 crore between Thursday to Saturday, the latter had done a bit higher with 19.9 crore coming in.
The common factor between the two films is that they have been marketed and pitched as niche films made for a target audience. None of the two had quintessential commercial elements to boast of. In fact, Finding Fanny had a large number of screens in English as that was the language it was originally shot in.
In that perspective, it makes it further sweet for Deepika to still have managed a slight edge as far as the opening is concerned. Of course, the fact also remains that she had a lesser competition (Creature 3D) to contend with while Shahid had some huge challenge in the form of Bang Bang which dominated the proceedings.
Still, as far as holding a mini record of sorts, one can well expect Deepika to be grinning about it. Perhaps she and Shahid would have something to laugh and joke about when they ever decide to pair up for a film.
Now that could well lead to some leg pulling of course. What say, Deepika?
