I love love love watching love triangles in Bollywood (on-screen as well as off-screen). Trying to guess who the hero or the heroine and who the object of affection in this love triangle will end up with is a blast! But sometimes, just sometimes, I think certain love triangles should have ended differently. You know, like Rahul should have totally ended up with Anjali (Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is perfect) but do you think EVERY love triangle was as perfect? I think not! Read on!
P.S.: These are purely my opinions. Feel free to add yours in the comments section below!
1) Mujhse Dosti Karoge
Mujhse Dosti Karoge should have definitely ended differently and no, not with Hrithik Roshan doing dosti with Kareena Kapoor, but with Rani Mukherjee going with Uday Chopra. Seriously, Uday’s character was fun, charming, and genuinely in love with Rani even if she wasn’t the ‘pretty‘ one (whatever). But Hrithik? Firstly he totally treated her like a bro while fawning over Bebo’s good looks, good looks, and good looks. All this while Rani obviously loved him. Then he was suddenly like ‘oh no, she knows my song, she’s my louuurv’ and towards the end of the movie he became positively psycho! Really, too much he was, Rani was better off elsewhere.
2) Dil Toh Pagal Hai
Well, the basis of a happy and healthy relationship is usually good friendship. Opposites do attract, but I really think Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit’s characters were, you know, too bland. Rahul needed a firecracker like Nisha (Karisma Kapoor) in his life and not a Pooja whose favourite thing to do was roll in the grass and sing songs. Rahul and Nisha on the other hand danced well together, looked hot together, were best friends with each other, and totally got one another. It would have been perfect!
3) Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon
Not only the ending, but the beginning, the middle, the songs, the acting, and just about everything should have been done differently in this movie!
4) Cocktail
Cocktail was a lot of fun till the interval. It’s after the ‘Veronica bani gharelo‘ transition that the movie went downhill! Why did Deepika Padukone’s magnificent Veronica have to pray, make mutton biryani, and basically kill her real personality to be more like Diana Penty’s timid little girl? Why did Saif Ali Khan‘s smart, educated, and modern character have to go for the damsel in distress instead of the strong confident girl who was already with him? So many questions, no convincing answers!
5) Dostana
Priyanka Chopra‘s character had John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan to choose from! Who did she choose? Bobby Deol! Why? I’d double date if I could and I’m sure Sameer and Kunal would have no problem! They love each other you guys!
Though now that I think of it, maybe Priyanka Chopra’s Neha saw this song and decided to go with Bobby!
Drool.
