Finding Fanny released and as you already might know, we really enjoyed it! One of the best parts (for me at least) during all the promotional rounds the cast did, was getting to look at all of Deepika Padukone’s outfits! She carries things off so well and I can’t help but take inspiration from her. For the last week, she’s been to a bunch of screenings, a launch for a TV show and she also made a trip to the Siddhivinayak temple to seek some blessings. One common factor remained amongst all the clothes she wore to these events – they all had at least one retro element. See it here…
1. Flared Denims
Nothing can be more retro than flared denims. While these J Brand one’s aren’t exactly boot-cut, which were all the rage during the 70’s, they were definitely on the path to it. The metallic Monisha Jaising top on the other hand pulled the look in another direction making it a bit more futuristic.
2. Full Body Checks
This one was slightly 60’s with the large patterns on the whole outfit. Wearing matching separates from Zara, Deepika’s trousers were flared once more; that paired with the matching belted top and white Christian Louboutin’s, not to mention the wavy middle parted hair made her look like she was on her way to a themed do – but of course, she’d be the most stylish one there.
3. Zeenat Aman, Is That You?
Looking eerily like Zeenat Aman from Dum Maro Dum (specific, I know), Deepika visited the Siddhivinayak temple. White lace pyjamas paired with a long printed kurta and THOSE (heart) sunnies – can it get more retro?
Needless to say, I loved all the looks. Deepika could go retro, she could go minimal, futuristic, rock some normcore, hell she could dress like a Martian and still look like perfection… sigh!
