Reshma Jani and Shwetaambari Soni of Gallerie Angel Arts along with Anushka Rajan, co-hosted “In an Artist’s Mind V” this past Friday. The 5th edition of the super curated art evening was supported by many of Bollywood’s stars and fashionistas, so we got Anushka’s brother, Akshat Rajan to give you an insider glimpse of what went down at the event.
Anushka has been an art patron all her life, constantly either being involved in or surrounded by different forms of art. Having grown up with her mother being an artist, it’s safe to say that having a knack for creativity runs in our blood.
I think the art works Anushka chose for her exhibition reflected an interesting blend of youth centric ideas and interests as well as versatility and clarity. Reshma and Shwetaambari curated this show keeping in mind Anushka’s fresh, young and energetic vibe. The pieces show a variety of different art styles, ranging from bright to pastel paintings exploring surrealist and minimalistic themes, cool Harley Davidson wall pieces, motor car inspired furniture, interesting shadow boxes and so much more.
And to top it all off, the exhibition even incorporated fashion at it’s artistic best, with a showcase of Tanya Sharma’s Label GaGa with a youthful, pop coloured and super chic line of clothes.
I think the event really brought out a different way of expression. From Sridevi, Sanjay Gupta, Karim Morani, Bijal Meswani, Kintu Bajaj, Krishika Lulla to all our friends including Armaan Jain, Ringzing, Kunal Kapoor, Luv Sinha, Jaanvi Kapoor and Kresha Bajaj appreciated the amalgamation of art and fashion.
Have a read at what sister dear has to say: “For me, art and fashion do at some level go hand in hand, I see art as the creation and fashion, the expression. Merging these two passions of mine was something that got me really excited for this collaboration! Usually art showings don’t really attract the youth of today. That’s why we thought of adding the element of pop fashion with some vibrant canvases and edgy young sculptures. I chose artwork which I felt would interest the GenNext’s of today! Being an art enthusiast from a very young age, promoting these phenomenal upcoming artists gave me immense joy.”
Never before have I heard of or attended an art exhibition with a fashion show in the evening in a lounge space with excellent food, drinks and music!
