Ritesh Sidhwani‘s birthday bash and the launch of his wife’s label, Noble Faith, last week saw a flurry of Bollywood folks descend upon Taj Land’s End in their finery (??). And, here’s what I thought of the menswear that night… 🙂
THE UGLY
Is this a trick question?
THE BAD
This is beyond shabby. And why are Aditya Roy Kapur‘s jeans always three-sizes-too-big?
Just look at those jeans. Bleurgh. Speaking of which, this man may need some help denim shopping — he can never get it right!
With a heavy heart, I put these two in here: Abhay Deol‘s shoes need to be burnt ASAP with Purab Kohli‘s denims.
Just sloppy, these three.
There are no tracksuit bottoms or flip-flops in sight but this is still scruffy.
Bugger me, leather pants, in this weather!
Self-explanatory, no?
Hey, this is not a trip to the cinema!
THE GOOD
These two messrs, elegant as always!
Iffy shirt-tie-pocket square combination, but sharp as always.
Erm, what a way to ruin that gorgeous Gucci suit! A less cleavage-bearing, threadbare tee (like Riteish Deshmukh’s) and smarter trainers (like Sidharth Malhotra’s) and he would’ve gotten himself a nice little spot in the next section.
This is a combo we have seen Sidharth Malhotra do a thousand times but still it works. And those Lanvin trainers, they never get old, never.
This is probably the first time I’ve seen someone in India don Rick Owens — and for that reason alone Mozez Singh deserves to be here! I know, I know, it’s a bit Justin Beiber-ish, but it’s forgiven this one time :-p
THE BEAUT
Hypnotised by the starkness of Ritesh Deshmukh’s outfit — major love!
This is simply masterful (but we expect nothing less from this dapper extraordinaire). What a gorgeous windowpane blazer that is by Govinda Mehta — from the fabric through to the cut, everything about it is just right!
…and that leaves us with K.Jo.
