Staring Nikhil Dwivedi along with the bold and talented Richa Chadda, the film Tamanchey holds a lot of promise. But unfortunately, the movie has been facing various troubles ever since it went on floors. Initially, its shooting had to be stalled and then postponed a couple of times because co-incidentally both Nikhil and Richa had suffered from an injury followed by some health issues back-to-back. And just when the Tamanchey cast and crew finally heaved a sigh of relief and commenced prepping up for the release, they were surrounded by another controversy.
Claiming that he had directed Tamanchey, Bharat Ratan went around town stating that he had direct almost the entire movie before his services were terminated. Naturally, it had caused a lot of stir in the industry. Hence, producer Suryaveer Singh finally decided to speak up and clarify the matter. Rubbishing Bharat’s allegations, he insists, “So far we have maintained a dignified silence and tried to ignore his actions but in many sections, our silence is being misconstrued as admittance towards his wild, baseless and diabolical allegations. He knows that I am an individual producer who has put everything at stake for this film and any delay or obstacle will hurt me financially and he will succeed in blackmailing me then.”
Apparently, Bharat had approached Suryaveer with a script with the claim of having written it indigenously in 2011 and Survayeer had immediately entered into a contract with him. However, it seems Mr. Singh gradually realised that Bharat had no knowledge about the craft of filmmaking and couldn’t do his job well. In fact, even the lead actors Richa and Nikhil weren’t too happy with Bharat’s work as after three days of shoot, the shot footage turned out to be rather unimpressive and totally unusable.
That’s when a new director was appointed and the shooting began all over again in full swing. The final product that everyone sees today was created by a different set of crew and had no connection with Bharat whatsoever. While Bharat has approached the director’s association, producer Suryaveer Singh has approached the producer’s association and the matter was left to the two associations to sort. But when the issue was dragged to the court, Bharat’s case was dismissed on the very first hearing.
Subsequently, another writer staked claim on this script, he further filed a complaint against the said individual (Bharat Ratan) with the writer’s association and after examining the complaint, the association has ruled against the said individual asking him to pay the original writer. There is also a complaint of fraud and cheating filed against the said individual at Amboli police station.
Phew! Director Bharat Ratan definitely doesn’t do justice to his name! Won’t you agree?
