A lot has been said about Humshakals and its director, Sajid Khan, long before and after its release. Though the film got flak from critics and public alike, even a month after the movie opened, the media is still all abuzz with stories about the film and its stars. First, it was Bispasha Basu disowning the movie and writing an open letter on Twitter explaining her absence from the promotions. Then it was Esha Gupta revealing in an interview that she did not allow her father to watch Humshakals because she knew he would not be able to ‘bear it’.
Now it is none other than the man himself, Saif Ali Khan, publicly expressing real regrets on being a part of the movie and stating how he feels that the movie was indeed ‘very regressive’. In a recent interview, Saif mentioned doing Humshakals was a big mistake and that he knew he had disappointed his fans by being a part of this crass comedy.
Saif Ali Khan told mirror:
The film was very regressive. In fact, while watching it, I asked myself what I was doing in it. I knew I had let my fans down and underestimated their intelligence. I’ve been introspecting a lot and will never repeat a mistake that was Humshakals.
He also assured his fans that he would never repeat a blunder like this film, and that he definitely will not be doing a second film with Sajid. Oh well! It seems that Sajid Khan just cannot catch a break from all these controversies surrounding Humshakals now, can he?
