7 Ways To Catch Tamil Fever

7 Ways To Catch Tamil Fever

Gigi

From the very first time I watched Nucleya perform at South Delhi’s Cafe Morrison, I was hooked! This man knows how to make you dance. Trust me, your feet won’t stop moving no matter how hard you try!

Benny Dayal & Nucleya

Being the die-hard fan that I am, I was super kicked to hear about his newest release with Benny Dayal for the second season of Project Resound.  Nucleya & Benny Dayal have collaborated on a global dance track called ‘Tamil Fever’ which released last week. After almost 5 days of listening to what I call Carnatic Bass music, I’ve contracted the fever, but who’s complaining! The wider the epidemic – the bigger the party! Bring out the thermometer, here’s 7 quick ways to catch some Tamil Fever:

1. Get hold of a large drum & some fluorescent paint

2. Find a cool melody

3. Dress a Kathakali dancer in a glow-in-the-dark shirt

4. Hike up your kanjivaram

5. Bring together two banging artists (try not to piss off the Midival Punditz while you’re at it)

6. Sync your moves

7. Turn up the volume and BOUNCE!

Now that you know how to get temperature rising, here’s a sneak peek of the next track under Project Resound which releases today. Karsh Kale is an artist that I deeply admire and have immense respect for (one of the main reasons I decided to learn tabla)

Sticking to the underlying theme of this season, Karsh drew inspiration from Indian streets, to produced ‘We all Fall’ in Collaboration with Ankita Joshi and Sabir Khan. We hear that the track is a reinterpretation of the traditional thumri fused with contemporary electronica and is full of soul. Stay tuned to the Sony India channel for the release. Till then, we have some exclusive pictures of the making just for you. Check it out!
