By now, you must have read Bipasha Basu‘s open letter to her fans where she explained why she’s not promoting Humshakals. The actress said that, after dubbing for the film, she was “extremely disturbed” by the end result of her character. She also said that since she could not promote the film with honesty, she stayed away from doing so entirely.
This post, I know, came as a surprise for the director, Sajid Khan. From what I’ve heard, Sajid had in fact spoken to Bipasha before and asked her to change her stance and join in the promotions of the film. It seems that, at that time, Bipasha told Sajid she may think about doing so. However, as is now clear, she didn’t change her mind at all and stuck to her initial thoughts. In fact, she ended up shocking Sajid by posting this message late on Tuesday night. Talk about a googly!
However, there are many in the industry who believe that Bipasha was aware of the script and the length of her role in advance. But it looks like things were rough from the beginning. She didn’t even get along with the other two girls. Oddly enough, if you watch Piya Ke Bazaar closely, you’ll realise that in certain segments she’s almost kept an arms-length distance from Esha Gupta and Tamannaah.
