As you know, last night was all about celebrating the legend Dilip Kumar. MissMalini was present at the launch of Dilipji’s biography to bring you all the details from this nostalgic evening (read here). Of course, Bollywood’s biggest and most respected names were present to applaud the glorious career of one of the most important figures in Indian cinema.
How did the stars dress? Doctor Closet has taken a close look at the outfit choices for the evening and here are his findings!
“It’s a little mix of the vintage and a lot of me!”
As expected , Priyanka Chopra worked her desi girl charm. In a Sabyasachi sari, Chopra got her retro glam on but in a chic non-cheesy way!
Enough About me, let’s TALK about her!
It seems that Aamir Khan decided to try visual trickery! Remember the discussion about Aamir’s weight and his last few appearances? Looks like he’s trying different ways to work his look. He was dressed in a slim suit and skinny tie, and looked fab! But Kiran stole the attention away, from him, in a bright colour heavy sari. Which could have been the power couple’s plan for the evening.
I’m gonna make walking down the stairs look so good!
Zarine Khan worked her embellished sari with a mix of pastels. Looks like she went for a fresh yet refined look and nailed it!
Look at my date!
The stunning Madhuri Dixit attended the event with her husband, Dr. Sriram Nene. The joy and excitement of stepping out all dressed up with the love of her life radiated on her face (which is always adorned by her million watt smile in the first place!)
Psyched! You thought I’d be in white!
Jeetendra attended the event in a crisp Nehru collar look in black. Jeetuji could still work his infamous white pants but he wouldn’t want to steal the limelight away from the man of the hour, Dilipji!
Of course! I’m in a sari and I designed it!
Absolutely no points for guessing that Mandira Bedi wore a sari (and rocked it!). Clearly, her love for the sari runs deep; deep enough that she has her own line of saris!
Jealous much ladies!
“Behind every successful man, there is a woman.” And there she was, standing all proud and so in love. Dilip Kumar’s wife, Saira Banu looked fabulous in her green sari. Could her choice of colour for the evening be a hint to the women who are jealous of her fabulous life?
So that was a little glimpse of the fabulous guests at Dilip Kumar’s biography launch and Doctor Closet’s readings on what their outfits might have been hinting at! Stay tuned for more from Doctor Closet who will dissect celebrity styles at parties for your entertainment! 🙂
