The heat makes people wear crazy things. So, as a wardrobe therapist, my job gets that much trickier. I’m Doctor Closet and I decode celebrity styles to diagnose their moods. If you have seen my readings from Karan Johar’s birthday bash, you may click here. MissMalini’s stylist sent me a few images, from Tiger Shroff‘s success bash, to scrutinize and I finally got down to studying them. And here’s what I think!
It’s my party and I’m playing it safe
After taking his shirt off, on a number of occasions, Tiger seemed to follow the rules of social conduct. (Now there’s a line with the word, ‘tiger’, I never thought I’d say!) Anyway, he wore a black shirt and a pair tight blue jeans. Which is quite the hero type classic-party-uniform.
Stand out and don’t fall!
Kriti Sanon is the female lead in the film and hence, by default, was one of the main faces at the party. She had to make an entrance. So the graphic jarring print on print look makes perfect sense.
P.S. It was a figure hugging silhouette worn with pink flats (Gasp! She didn’t wear heels. Which makes sense as heels at Olive’s pebble-y outdoor area is dreadful!)
Yup! Still trying to chill
Aamir Khan showed up at a party and was still sporting his I-seriously-couldn’t-care-less look. Not that he doesn’t care about the his appearances, it seems, he just couldn’t be bothered to dress up for a night out, in this hot and humid climate. But he did wear a thick pair of jeans. Interesting!
We’re cute like that, because we dare to match
Page 3 regulars, Aarti and Kailash Surendranath love dressing for parties and it shows! But their co-ordinated outfits seem too perfect for a co-incidence. I’m not sure what the style police will have to say. Kailash took it further by matching his trousers to his shoes. Wait a min… So did she!
We’re hip like that
Here’s a little thing about dance choreographers… As a result of being surrounded by song and dance, they can transcend the boundaries of age. Somewhere in that chaos, a few seem to lose their hold on reality. Pants tucked into army combat boots and blinged out pants are tough looks to carry, especially if you aren’t in rock hard shape.
P.S. In the heavy fabric choices, they clearly went for “style” over comfort.
The Princess syndrome
Every woman loves feeling like a princess! I guess, the romance of long princess-like dresses have something to do with it. Bhagyashree represented that kind on the night. And in her case, she happens to be royalty herself.
Partay!!!
Danny Denzongpa planned it all the way. He chose a jewel toned, blue blazer to go over a snug black tee, the good ol’ jeans and a polished pair of black shoes. Seemingly proud of his look, he also worked a pose for the paps. Clearly, his “I came to party” look was made to perform!
Dress up time!
Raveena Tandon seemed to have managed to have a little party of her own. A dress up party that is! She chose a black fluid jumpsuit (we all know that girls love wearing those cute jumpsuits and playsuits). She even had her hair done. And for the fashion people asking me if that’s a fancy version of a mullet, it’s not!
We’re the pretty boys for the night!
Look who showed up with waxed chests and tight jeans. Erm… I’m not even gonna try to dissect this one. Just read this!
Let daddy show you how it’s done!
Jackie Shroff wore a blazer and plaid pants?! If he rocked this look in the winter, it would have been a whole other story, but in this weather, the look seemed a little to heavy. All in all, it was his son’s success bash and the man stepped up. Good on you!
Salman Khan can never go wrong, right?
He rocked it, weather-wise! See-through shirt (a genius choice in the time of a heat wave) and the pissed-off expression on his face (probably because of the heat) was spot on. The style of Sallu Bhai that his fans love!
So that was my round up of the folks who attended Tiger Shroff’s Heropanti success bash. Stay tuned for more on my style examination of what celebrities choose to put on their back. It’s a tough job, especially when some guys really dress the way they do. But hey, as long as we’re all having fun (them included) and no one hurts their eyes!
