In a modern day scenario, what’s the best way to start a rumour? Simply broadcast a photo with text to your favourites on Whatsapp. That’s exactly what happened this morning. Pictures of Yo Yo Honey Singh on a hospital bed were being circulated on the messenger app. Pretty soon, the rumour had spread to social networking sites, including Facebook and Twitter.
And the story declared the popular singer/rapper dead after a car accident abroad. There’s no truth to this. Even if Yo Yo Honey Singh consumes “char bottle vodka”, he will not leave us. He is very much alive and was last sighted in Dubai, while promoting the Global Fighting Championships at the World Trade Centre.
In fact, a tweet was sent out from Yo Yo’s verified Twitter account as well. It read, “News of YoYo’s accident is a fake rumour must be spread by some haters. Please don’t bother and Keep blessing YoYo.”
