So this song plays. You really want to skip it, but within 5 seconds you are mumbling the lyrics, moving your head to the tune and then you shudder, checking if someone saw you. Bollywood’s list of cringe worthy numbers may be longer than what I listed, but songs that are not worth loving and yet stick inside our heads are definitely more. So let’s short list.
1. Hookah Bar – Khiladi 786
Although I don’t know how someone’s pyaar being hookah bar is a good thing, the beats of this song are kinda catchy and make you want to sing along.
2. Fevicol Se – Dabangg 2
Definitely Munni Badnaam set a trend and Sheila Ki Jawaani took it ahead, but Fevicol came at a time when the weird lyrics phase was passive (it’s very active now, haven’t you heard Icecream Khaungi?). Yet, I think Mamta Sharma adds a little element to this song that doesn’t let you skip it.
3. Whistle Baja – Heropanti
The only reason I listen to this song – the whistle.
4. Lungi Dance (Thalaivaa) – Chennai Express
Makes sense? No. Is addictive and you scream ”Thalaivaa” every time you listen to the song? Yes, totally.
5. Gandi Baat – R…Rajkumar
The energy of this song is what makes you want to listen to it even though ‘gandi baat’ is the most random thing that could happen to a song.
6. Jigar Da Tukda – Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl
The only reason I love to hate this song is the first impression of Parineeti Chopra and how far she has come since this song. And of course, Ranveer Singh’s energy.
7. Raghupati Raghav – Krrish 3
I can’t count how many people cringed when this song released, but I have heard it at every party and people have always danced happily trying to attempt that signature step.
Tell me the songs you love to hate and the ones I missed out on, in the comments below.
