Have you been looking forward to Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha‘s Tevar? Well, here’s news for you: the film is all set to hit the big screen on December 5th of this year. The film went on floors earlier this year, with the two shooting in Mathura and Agra for portions of the film. They will now begin a Mumbai schedule on May 5th, and wrap up the entire film in June after shooting in Benaras for a little while.
As you may know, the movie is the remake of a Telugu film Okkadu, but from what Arjun maintains, it’s going to be treated very differently. He called the original a “star-driven vehicle” (given Mahesh Babu‘s immense popularity), but says that the team was very clear from the beginning that they want to make Tevar a character-driven film. So while it will retain the core concept – a boy and girl on the run fall in love – it will be “optimised in a unique way,” according to the actor.
Psst! If you want to know more about Tevar, make sure you read our earlier interview with Arjun, where he discussed the story and what it was like working with Sonakshi. Tevar also marks the first time that he is working with his father, Boney Kapoor, so we asked him what that experience was like as well – make sure to check it out in case you missed it the first time around.
