For some reason Hum Dil Chuke Sanam has always been one of my favourite films of all time, and if I ever catch it while flipping channels I feel compelled to stop and watch. So I decided to blog just some of the reasons why this movie is awesome (like the mausam) and if you haven’t seen it yet, you need to get on that STAT!

1. The SWEET ROMANCE!
Watching Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai tumble hopelessly in love tugs at your heart… just so. It’s the kind of overpowering crush we’ve all experienced, or at least longed to. It’s all very immature, feisty and terribly delightful!
2. THE MUSIC
The tunes are both melodious and haunting. The kind that will echo in your heart for an eternity to come.
3. THE DANCES
Aishwarya Rai is a phenomenal dancer. ‘Nuff said!
4. THE TRADITION
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a master at this. He conjures up forgotten times with epic grandiose. From the costumes to the sets, its magic all around.
5. THE FUN BITS 🙂
There are a few funny moments sprinkled through the film that amuse you without taking away from the eventual gravitas.
6. The CAST
From the breath-taking gorgeousness of Aishwarya Rai, to the before-he-was-a-beefcake, cuteness of Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn’s gentle giant hearted soul.
It’s everything you wanted to experience on this big fat Bollywood roller-coaster. Even the supporting cast is ace. Zohra Segal the adorable dadi, Vikram Gokhale the stoically firm but loving father, the beautiful motherly Smita Jaykar, and the sweet sister Divya Jagdale.
7. THE ANGST
What happens when this movie reaches its climaxes will leave you more than a little destroyed. All because you have come to care so deeply about all these characters, just as puppet-master Sanjay Leela Bhansali intended for us all along..
The good news is that he builds you back up brick by brick till you are once again whole. With just a shadow of ache where your crumbled heart once lay. So hang in there. xoxo
