Well, there you have it: like we told you yesterday, Bombay Velvet – which the team has been shooting for for so long – finally wrapped up recently. To celebrate the occasion, the cast and crew held a party in Mumbai last night. But it wasn’t only to mark the end of their shooting schedule – the team also used the opportunity to announce the new release date of their film. Bombay Velvet will now be hitting theatres on November 28th, as you can see on the entire crew’s t-shirts:
This means that it will no longer be clashing with Aamir Khan‘s P.K. – it was earlier slated for a Christmas 2014 release, but when P.K. announced that it would be releasing at the same time too, Anurag Kashyap admitted to being a little hurt that Rajkumar Hirani and his team didn’t give him a phone call to let him know. Since then, apparently, the Bombay Velvet team has been toying with the idea of changing their release date, and that has now happened.
Interestingly, as per reports, Aamir Khan has asked theatres to block their screens for two weeks from December 19th to January 1st for P.K,, giving it an uninterrupted release. Whether this will happen yet or not is something we’ll have to wait and see, but at least now there won’t be a major clash between these two big films.
