Hunky actor Taaha Shah shows off his ripped and shredded body on the cover of Health magazine for March 2014. The actor – who charmed us in films like Love Ka The End and Gippi – is a fitness freak and even when he’s on set, he takes time out to enjoy a brief work-out.
But not everyone has the time to go to a gym and train for hours. Hence, we asked Taaha to shed some light on how one can make the best possible use of their home environment to stay fit. Here’s what he told us:
“I understand that due to our fast paced lifestyle and the demands from our jobs, family etc, we may not get enough time for ourselves and enough time to visit a gym. But it’s relatively easy to take out half an hour from your day to work out in the comfort of your home.
Here are five basic exercises I recommend you to do on an everyday basis, at home. If you continue practicing these work-outs regularly, you will definitely see visible results soon.”
PUSH UPS: Doing push-ups helps in developing your shoulders, triceps, chest, forearms and back. You can start by doing a few a day and then gradually increase the number over a period of time. I do about 200-300 in a day.
SQUATS: Doing squats helps to develop the quads, hamstrings, glutes, calves and the muscles around the knee joints, ankles and hip joints. Want a bubble butt? Squats are the best way to get one!
PLANKS: The more and the longer you do planks, the better abs you get. You can do both hands as a frontal or you can do planks on one hand for the sides (obliques).
STRETCHING: This is one of the most essential ingredients to being fit and maintaining a youthful look. From forward bends to touch your toes or doing split-stretching and back and side bending, don’t underestimate the power of stretching.
SKIPPING: Skipping is a great cardio exercise that works on the whole body and is one of the fastest fat burners. I recommend you do skipping as long as possible.
