When in doubt, monochrome it out! As a stylist, I love a classic black and white play when it comes to fashion. It’s simple and easy to balance. But did you know that you could also turn you look into a very cool style statement? At our Pizza Express Pizza Party, our gorgeous guests gave us a crash course in monochrome. So here’s a page for your style diary….
The classic blocks
Model Himangi Parte worked a sense of ease in her look and it was perfect! She teamed a loose twist ‘n’ drape top with a pair of white trousers. A clean and simple look that never disappoints!
Carol Gracias was one of the hostesses for the party and rocked one of my favourite looks of the evening. In a cool super-sized smoking jacket with a sexy white mini with black off-centered grid lines, I personally thought the look was AWESOME with the top-hat, because it felt like a chic mix between the style of rock’s bad boys, Axl Rose and Slash!
The Prints
We saw designer Nishka Lulla work an adorable printed dress in a cute cat print that she bought in Hong Kong. She always has an endearingly fun twist on that girlie silhouette!
Shveta Salve wore a printed skirt. And not just any skirt – you’re looking at the infamous Andy Warhol soup-can print! She teamed it with a black top and rocked one of our neck-pieces from the party favours to boot! And I absolutely adore her ear cuffs that MissMalini and I have been crushing over. (Shveta also gifted MissMalini one!)
And now look at MissMalini and Nowshad working their stripes! MissMalini wore an easy breezy lightweight knit top and a pair of textured lace shorts plus her sexy peep toe heels form Heel and Buckle.
Nowshad complimented her in his nice-guy version of a Pete Doherty look (when he wore the hat of course!).
Psst! Like MissMalini’s hair and make-up? Let us know and we’d get Smashh the Salon to give you a quick video tutorial!
Speaking of make-up, Maybelline India joined in the monochrome fun with custom black & white nail art. Guests were seen, throughout the night, stopping by the Maybelline booth to have their nails match their outfits!
Remember I told you about my #MarvOnAMission for all the party props in monochrome? And we were extremely pleased to see the guests rocking them at the party!
#Quicktip: Add a statement piece to your outfit to pop your look!
At our Pizza Express Pizza Party, we were glad to see all our fabulous friends working their monochrome. But there was one guy who stood out for his simple yet strong personal sense of style. Designer, Jagvir Matharoo’s soft version of a sherwani stood apart, in the way he put his look together. He took home the best dressed hamper, because we appreciate a man who puts his best foot forward!
And that’s how our guests got their monochrome on to follow our #EarnYourStripes theme of our Pizza Express Pizza Party/Game night. To check out all the fun things at the party click here. Do you like monochrome, what’s you favourite monochrome look? Tell us in the comments below!
