Kate Middleton has quite smoothly eased into the role of a Princess after she married Prince William, back in 2012. Ever since she became the Duchess of Cambridge, the world fell in love with her and her easy style that was a mix of designer duds and high-street favourites. In fact, she even became the queen of recycling – repeating her outfits (not quite the royal norm). Post the birth of her son, Prince George, she has been keeping a low profile – until now.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are heading for their first official overseas trip of 2014 to Australia (it will be baby George’s 2nd international trip) and the Queen has ordered Kate to wear cover up her knees!
Yes, you read that right. According to the Daily Mail newspaper, The Queen is lending her trusted personal dresser Angela Kelly to Kate, who will design and curate her wardrobe for her trip there. The Duchess will also wear a selection of tiaras from the Queen’s private collection. Oooh! Now that is something we are waiting to see. In the past, we have only seen Middleton wear a tiara twice – on her wedding day and for an official dinner.
The wardrobe makeover is in lieu of Catherine’s previous wardrobe malfunctions that happened at her overseas trip to Calgary, Canada. A gust of wind blew Middleton’s cheery yellow frock right up to reveal her underwear.
The Queen wants to project the right image of Middleton as the wife and mother of future kings. Dang! That means no more L Bennett and Whistles dresses? Alexander McQueen and Jenny Packham – who have been K-Mids favourite designers, have already been notified and are creating custom made outfits just for the trip.
Wondering how the makeover will turn out?
