Jan 25th was a big day for Indian pop singer, actor, model, television anchor, former MTV and Channel V VJ, yoga expert, motivational speaker and going-to-be bride Raageshwari Loomba. (Phew! You can take a breath now.) This 36-year-old multi-talented lady got engaged to International Law Barrister Sudhanshu Swaroop on January 25th. When asked about their story, Raageshwari said, “We were introduced by my beloved parents and his friends via email. The communication grew by the good old mail. Letters of faith, love and compassion — snail speed physically, but we were connected spiritually instantly. As he is from London, we have spent little time together but all the time over Skype.”

The engagement party of the couple was a grand yet intimate event, hosted at the Four Seasons. It was a Western themed dance ceremony- “EAT, PRAY AND DANCE” held by the duo that seemed madly in love. The party only had people from their immediate circles who came all the way from UK and Scotland. Most of the groom’s friends and family were from the royal chambers of UK and the bride’s were her close friends from Mumbai.

Raageshwari’s friends left no stone unturned in order to make this affair special. Her close friend and Bollywood actress, Pooja Bedi performed a skit about how Raageshwari has finally decided to settle down after having enjoyed a single status for a long time. The evening was filled with surprises for the couple with Anna Singh, Karan Oberoi and Hanif Hilal keeping the party alive with their antics. Also, Sushmita Sen, who is a close friend of both, Raageshwari and Sudhanshu, gave a very touching speech which moved everyone.

The party went on till the wee hours of the morning and everybody grooved to the beats of DJ Amyth who played his hits all night long. The couple, like any good hosts only ate their dinner once all the guests left along with the staff of the Four Seasons.
