Which girl doesn’t love make-up? Whether it’s going the whole hog or being partial to one particular item, such as lipstick or mascara, we still love it! I’ve compiled a list of some of the best make-up tips that should work for you.
Gucci Westman, Creative Director of Revlon told Elle magazine that the secret of creating an impeccable complexion is:
“If you really want to see a difference, prepping before make-up is key. When I have time with a client, I usually use a light scrub, followed by a moisturizer, and then a brightening cloth mask on top for a few minutes. Once I remove the mask, I massage any remaining product into the skin. It makes a great base and helps the makeup settle in to look more natural.”
Charlotte Tilbury, make-up artist to supermodel Kate Moss shared with Cosmopolitan magazine the correct way to apply blusher.
“For a more youthful look, apply the colour high up on the cheekbones. This works especially well when using creams as you can really blend and guide the colour. For an English Rose, and healthy pop of colour, apply blush to the apples of the cheeks. The easiest way to work out where to apply your colour is by smiling in the mirror and applying the colour to where you cheeks are the most raised.”
Bobbi Brown, who has launched her own make-up empire has shared her expertise on making a pedicure last longer in Health magazine.
“I rely on a few tricks that help a lot. First, apply an oil to your feet before bed – anything from coconut oil to plain old olive oil is great for adding moisture and nourishing cuticles (top with socks). Then, once or twice a week, throw on a clear top coat to strengthen your nails and add shine. If your polish has already dulled or you spot a chip, just a single coat of a totally new color (it should be darker than the original) to make your nails instantly deeper or brighter. Voila!”
