The Grammy’s are arguably the biggest night in the field of music. The 56th Annual Grammy Awards took place last night at the Staples Centre in LA. I was pretty underwhelmed with the outfits on display as there was nothing that particularly stood out. In the past, Jennifer Lopez has stepped out wearing a Versace gown that was slashed till just below her navel or Lady Gaga’s Armani futuristic gown have left major imprints. Nevertheless, here are my favourite gowns that I spotted on the red carpet.
Ciara in Emilio Pucci
Singer Ciara looked ultra-glam wearing a sexy golden Emilio Pucci gown that showed off her growing baby bump. If this is her pregnancy style, I’m waiting to see more.
Taylor Swift in Gucci Première
The You Belong With Me singer chose a chain mail shimmering Gucci Première gown. Taylor Swift pulled her hair into a ponytail that worked perfectly with her outfit. Knocked it out of the ball park with this one!
Sara Bareilles in Blumarine
Sara Bareilles showed off her fun, quirky side wearing a Blumarine gown that had a high-low hemline. I love the white train that had textural appliques and that she chose red accessories that gave a lovely pop of colour. I wasn’t too happy with her messy, braided hairdo but I think it just about works with her outfit.
Alicia keys in Armani prive
Alicia Keys is one hot sizzling mama in this cobalt blue Armani Privé gown that featured a plunging neckline. Minimal accessories and a severe updo completed her look.
KATY PERRY IN VALENTINO COUTURE
Katy Perry’s stylist sure does work quickly! It was barely a few days ago that this musical print gown hit the runway at Valentino’s couture show. I love the whimsy print and the floaty fabric. It goes with the softer, sweeter image Perry is going for instead of the pin-up, shock and awe she loved doing.
