Studded-Sleeve Blazer and Pants: Michael Kors (Net-a-Porter), Tank: Zara, Cuff: Asos, Earrings: Asos, Shoes: KG by Kurt Geiger Bailey (Asos)
Fit Matters
This look had so much potential, especially on the gorgeous Alia Bhatt, but the ill-fitted jacket and pants make her look sloppy. This goes to show you that fit is key no matter who you are. The exaggerated shoulder combined with the high-neck blouse overwhelms her frame, so a sleeker jacket and a simple tank will elongate and flatter her frame but will still keep the spirit of the outfit.
Dupatta: Raw Mango (Indianroots.com), Shoes: Ivanka Trump, Earrings: Amrapali
Length Matters
The color of Rani Mukerji‘s outfit is beautiful and one of the most flattering on Indian skin tones, but the cropped pants with the kurta really cut her off at an awkward length making an already petite woman look even shorter. We’d rather have seen a matching pair of palazzo pants. The necklace adds nothing to the outfit but you can’t keep your eyes off it, so it has to go. We’re replacing it with this gorgeous pink dupatta and adding statement earrings. Do we even have to talk about the shoes?

Tailoring Matters
The pants! This is the most obvious example of a time when you have to invest in alterations. We love the pants and suggest next time Priyanka’s stylist pays attention to these details. While the pants are unique, they work great as a neutral, so we suggest this pearl-embroidered jacket – adds interest but also corrects the proportion issue because this jacket is shorter and hits right above the hip. The rest is just for fun!
