Choli Lehenga
The choli lehenga is characterized by the choli (short blouse) paired with full A-line skirt or lehenga. Since, this a conservative wedding you can ask the designer to modify the blouse to make it longer – just ensure it is tailored well.
Bandi Lehenga
Bandi is characterized by the jacket style blouse worn with a lehenga. In my opinion, this tailored silhouette would look smashing on you Anna 🙂
Sharara Pants
Sharara pants are quite similar to palazzo pants, the key to wearing this look is keeping your blouse tailored and fitted.
Tips for the Curvy Bride:
MissMalini’s stylist Marv D’Souza suggests to set all attention to the neck and the bride’s blushing face, choose a mandarin or high collar with embroidery or details. Else, you can opt for an ornate neck-piece or statement earrings to accessorize your look. Bridal designer extraordinaire Tarun Tahiliani, also lends his expert opinion saying, “Being curvy, is a gift. Heels add a lot of height. However, petite girls should not be over graphic and busy. Chokers bring the eye up and narrow borders with a slight trail give the illusion of height. Keep veils and trails light.”
Wear a belt to accentuate your waist, which is the narrowest part of your body and that will give you the illusion of an hourglass figure.
And finally, avoid choosing heavy fabrics such as brocade and velvet – they will only make you look bulkier. Instead opt for Georgettes and chiffons that are light and fall well on your body.
