It has been a steady stream of gowns, flashy baubles and sky-high stilettos at Awards season. The Screen Actors Guild Awards took place over the weekend at the Shrine Auditorium and we saw some pretty stellar looks. Want to know what my top picks are?
Cate Blanchett in Givenchy
Cate Blanchett is one heck of a stylish lady and she stepped out wearing a spring/summer 2014 Givenchy gown. The pale pink gown would have looked washed out against her alabaster skin but thankfully those sequins inject some much needed colour.
Amy Adams in Antonio Berardi
Amy Adams packed a punch in this cut-out detailed cobalt blue gown from Antonio Berardi. It looked amazing against her fair skin and red hair. The coral lips and faux bob take this look a notch higher.
Jennifer Lawrence in Dior
Jennifer Lawrence shone bright like a diamond in a Dior Couture gown from the Fall 2013 collection. The column gown which sparkled with plenty of sequins radiated on the red carpet. She paired her outfit with Brian Atwood pumps. Age appropriate, yet extremely sexy.
Lupita Nyong’o in Gucci
Lupita Nyong’o is the one to watch at the Oscars. She wore a turquoise blue custom made Gucci gown that contrasted beautifully against her chocolate hued skin. The beaded neckline and matching eyeliner make this look stand out.
Jennifer Garner in Max Mara
There’s a quiet sophistication about Jennifer Garner’s Max Mara gown that has me hooked. I love the addition of the metal belt and statement earrings – this is how to do it refined and simple ladies!
Sandra Bullock in Lanvin
Sandra Bullock has had a love affair with Lanvin for a while now; so it was no surprise that she picked a strapless emerald green gown from the label. With a deep slit exposing her gams and a bow on the waist, the outfit looked elegant.
Sofia Vergara in Donna Karan Atelier
Sofia Vergara channels old Hollywood glam in this shimmering Donna Karan Atelier gown that she wore with Amrapali jewellery and teased her hair into cascading curls.
Elizabeth Moss in Michael Kors
Mad Men star Elizabeth Moss picked a red gown from Michael Kors that had a pleated bust and sweetheart neckline – love those red lips.
Michelle Dockery in J Mendel
Downtown Abbey star Michelle Dockery showed us how to take the plunge in this monochrome J. Mendel number. So classy!
