Sonakshi Sinha isn’t in the best of moods these days, thanks to the reception she and her film Lootera have received. The actress feels that two major award shows – Screen and Filmfare – have given Lootera the cold shoulder. She already expressed her disappointment on Twitter about Lootera not getting the kind of nominations she would have wanted it to (Vikramaditya Motwane for Best Director, for example), but she also feels that she has been overlooked to a great extent.
While Screen shortlisted Sonakshi for the nomination, they ended up giving Deepika Padukone the award for both the critics and popular choice categories. Meanwhile, at Filmfare, DPad received two nominations in the same category, for Chennai Express and Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela. This upset Sonakshi a little, and after the Screen Awards ceremony she was overheard telling a friend that she felt cheated.
Unfortunately for her, at the Star Guild Awards held last night, Sonakshi didn’t receive an award for Lootera either. Once again, Deepika walked away with the night’s biggest trophy.
However, although Sonakshi is feeling a bit shortchanged, I hear her dad has been cheering her up. He has advised her not to take this to heart.
After all, there is always next year, isn’t it? 2013 was Deepika’s year, but 2014 can belong to anybody!
