Even though the fashion critics have denounced the anarkali as a trend for 2014, it looks like this ancient Mughal silhouette is here to stay.
Just last week, Daisy Shah wore an anarkali on two occasions (here and here) and now, Huma Qureshi has also sported this style at two recent events.
If you’ve already seen this Manish Malhotra look at the Dedh Ishqiya premiere, here’s Huma at another soiree in an anarkali by Delhi-based designer, Arpan Vohra.
Says Arpan, “Huma wears a grey/black floor length anarkali with numerous panels to enhance the elegance of the silhouette. A little hint of rose pink showing through from an under layer adds a dash of vibrance to the ensemble.
The anarkali is lightly embellished with black uncut glass beads on the sleeves and is paired with a stole, adorned with black pearl beads along the border.
A peek-a-boo cut-out on the back adds a dash of sexiness!”
