Mumbai’s long awaited new international airport terminal – T2 – is finally here. Opening its doors to passengers on February 12th, the airport was officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh last Friday. While some photos have been released of the terminal – which cost 5,500 Crores (~ US$ 900 million) and houses an astonishing 7,000 pieces of Indian artwork – GVK has just released a video tour of the new facilities, voiced by who else but Amitabh Bachchan.
If like us you’ve been dying to see what we can expect, check out the tour below. Among the new airport’s promises, aside from updated facilities: shorter lines, a longer list of retail and F&B options, and a blogger’s dream: free Wi-Fi access in all passenger waiting areas. The new airport is also equipped to handle the A380 jumbo aircraft, so hopefully we’ll see some exciting new flight options to and from our city!
