The most exclusive party of the season is back in the city with a bang. Tomorrow evening, December 10th, will see some of Mumbai’s most suave socialites & fashionistas partying it up at the Four Seasons Hotel for the second edition of Grey Goose Style Du Jour. Three leading magazines, Nobelesse, Harper’s Bazaar and Elle, will be showcasing five new, cutting-edge looks that we’re sure will dominate the ramp for spring/summer 2014.
Last year saw the inaugural edition turn into a fashion extravangaza with A-list celebs in attendance. Among them were Yash Birla, Abu Jani, Surily Goel, Ayushmann Khurrana and Esha Gupta – all of whom turned up to celebrate fashion at its luxurious best.
In its second edition, Grey Goose Style Du Jour has gone bigger and better with designers such as Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla, Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna, Shantanu & Nikhil, Surily Goel, Nishka Lulla, Nikhil Thampi and Nandita Mahtani showcasing their designs with the biggest fashion media houses.
HERE’S A PREVIEW:
Punk: Originating in the ’70s, the punk trend has influenced the fashion world tremendously for the last 40 years, and continues to do so. The punk style statement is all about chaos, anarchy and rebellion. It’s about being shocking, provoking and confrontational, all the while being comfortable in your own skin. Dominating this look are studded jackets, skinny jeans, leather pants, torn & tattered tees… all fiercely independent and customizable.
True Blue: Blue is the hot colour of the season, with twenty-four different shades to choose from. Versatile and stylish, blue can be seen on the runway in the form of jackets, trousers, business suits, shirts and shorts… you name it! Sported by celebs and fashion lovers alike, blue rules the fashion world.
His is Hers: Derived from the Greek words, aner and gyne, meaning man and woman respectively, androgyny is a trend that blurs the gender lines, merging masculine styles with feminine sophistication. The result is a fashion statement that is both relaxed and refined, with styles including boyfriend jackets, boyfriend jeans, pant suits, etc.
Film Noir: Extending from the early ’40s to the late ’50s, the period of Film Noir has resurfaced, and is taking the fashion world by storm. This trend is all about elegance, classiness, impeccable tailoring, and luxurious fabrics. The looks that come to mind are femme fatale with cinched waist and knee-high leather boots, perfectly tailored skirts and jackets, and, of course, beautiful women in flowing gowns.
Midas Touch: From the runway to the red carpet, gold is always in high demand as a fashion trend. Gold in jackets, dresses and shirts, as well as in accessories, are making a tremendous impact among fashion lovers, and it remains one of the top trends this season.
With Style Du Jour, Grey Goose brings together these stellar designers for the purpose of defining the trends and looks for upcoming fashion seasons.
